Abstract
|
|
|
We evaluated the clinical manifestations of 126 vitiligo patients occurred after puberty who had visited Department of Dermatology, Wonju Christian Hospital and Sinchon Severance Hospital.
The results were as follows;
1. There were 56 males (44.4%) and 70 females (55.6%).
2. The mean age at the first visit was 36 years (male: 34.8 years, female: 37.3 years).
3. The mean age of onset was 32.5 years (male: 31.3 years, female:33.7 years).
4. The mean duration of the disease was 3.6 years and the duration was less than 5 years in 95 patients (75.4%).
5. Mode of onset was single in 80.2% and multiple in 19.8%.
6. The most common site of initial involvement was face(44.4%).
7. The most common clinical type of disease was localized type (53.1%).
8. The most common degree of depigmented lesion was less than 5% (82.5%).
9. The most common precipitating factor was emotional stress (47.4%).
10. The most common previous treatment was topical steroid ointment apply (38.0%).
11. Family history was present in 5.6% and the Koebner phenomenon in 16.7%.
12. The associated disease were 3 cases of halo nevi, 2 cases of alopecia areata and 1 case of thyroid disease.
13. The number of ANA positive was 14 patients (13%) among the 105 patients.
